I’ll often get more cash than I spent, so I need Overpayment option.

Hi! Thanks for flagging this — I want to check whether your case is already covered before we build something new. Could you try the workflow below and tell us if it fits?
For overpayments after an expense (e.g. someone owes you $20 but hands you $80 because they don’t have small change):
The balance flips automatically. “Bob owes you $20” becomes “You owe Bob $60” — which is the truth, because you’re now holding $60 of his cash. Next time Bob has an expense in the group, those $60 will offset what he owes.
For collecting cash up-front (e.g. gathering trip money before any expense exists): create individual settlements in the “they paid me” direction for each contributor. Same mechanism, same result.
Could you tell us:
If the workaround feels natural, we’ll keep it as-is. If you hit friction, that’s exactly the signal we need to design a proper Overpayment flow. Thanks!
Hello, I’m not sure if I’m doing this right. When i try to settle the balance typing an amount larger than the one owed, I get the error (translated) “Amount too high”. From the previous message I thought this was allowed though.

I tested it and indeed when you press Settle Up you cannot enter an amount greater than what you owe/are owed.
